Moonshine and Roses

My weekend is over and my heart is full. These are times I cherish in my heart as rare and pure moments of utter joy and freedom. When the girls can get together and kick off our shoes, dance in the river and just be free. Free of spirit. Free of burdens. Free of mind. Free of heart.

The weekend was spent juggling my regular jobs and mommyhood with making time to spend with friends, but it was worth the exhausted feeling I have tonight. Good friends, good music and good spirits, which included a little home made and hand delivered Tennessee moonshine....which is utterly disgusting by the way...:0)~

My girlfriend who is home from the ARMY is one of those people who makes my life so much happier when she is near. A kindred spirit, who I have worried about and prayed for as she fought in this bloody war in Iraq. Having her home, on the land where she was born and bred, the land she takes as much pride in as me, is like passing by a rose bush with one beautiful scented blossom, hanging in the sunshine, sharing it's life with all who see it. She is a rose in my life. And I love her. My heart is full.
